Scheduled departures to Puerto Vallarta leave on a daily basis from various locations in the village area. You can catch the Water Taxis from the playita (little beach) pier, which is right next to the Yacht Club, or on the beach. The Water Taxis cruise by all of the locations and pick up anybody that is waiting. If you are taking the Princesa Cruise you must go to the beach to board. Good News! There is a palapainyelapa office, located at the south end of the main beach. Travel to, and from Yelapa is increasing greatly every year and space on a water taxi is often limited. It is highly recommended hat you purchase your tickets early from the palapainyelapa office. The price of the Water Taxi to P.V. is 120 pesos one way, or 220 pesos roundtrip. The price of the Water Taxi trip does include your baggage, but only that of which you can carry. If you have extra baggage, you will be required to pay a little extra. The extra payment will be dependent on how many bags, and how large / heavy they are. It is best to be a little bit ahead of time to ensure that you do not miss the boat, as they do sometimes leave earlier than the scheduled departure time. | ||||||
Resident Cards | ||||||
If you are staying more than a month in Yelapa, a resident card can be purchased in Yelapa at the palapainyelapa office, located at the south end of the main beach , or at the Yelapa Office in Puerto Vallarta, located at Los Muertos pier. This card entitles you to the discounted Yelapense rate of 90 pesos each person, each direction. Cost of the card is 100 pesos. | ||||||
